TASO piloted community drug distributed points (CDDPs) in Jinja, Uganda, that have subsequently been endorsed by the Ministry of Health and implemented nationally. Clients collect 2-3-month ART refills from ART distribution points at community locations serviced by counsellors with support from expert patients and community health workers. A clinical outreach team from the facility does 6-monthly clinical assessments at the CDDP location. Clients and group leaders of community client-led ART delivery (CCLAD) peer support groups are allowed to collect ART refills from the CDDP.
